The talks of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s royal wedding are going on everywhere. Their fans are keen on knowing the itsy-bitsy details of the bash starts from the venue, wedding dress, designers, accessories, honeymoon destinations etc, etc. Here we have brought some rare news regarding the jewellery the bride-to-be Kareena will be wearing on her D-day. If believes the hearsay, Kareena Kapoor will be wearing a necklace worth Rs. 40 Lakhs on her wedding. Well-known Rajkot-based Kruti Jewellers are set to create designer royal dress jewellery set for the actress. Earlier the jewelers have designed a gold ring for the new born baby in Bachchan family and that is enough to classify the richness of the jewelers.
Describing the jewellery set, Pradeep Kansara, owner of Rajkot-based Kruti Jewellers said that the set will be a “full dress necklace with a length of head to waist”. The city-based jewellery firm has received an order from Kareena’s jewellers in Mumbai for design and making a 400 gm gold and gem jewellery set. “We have received special order from a Mumbai based jewellery firm for Kareena Kapoor. It’s a unique designer set which is generally used for royal weddings,” said Kansara, refusing to divulge name of the Mumbai-based jeweller.
The designers will be using diamonds and other precious gem stones along with gold for designing and creating the necklace set. The total cost of the set will be more than Rs 40 lakh wherein the gold, diamonds and gems stones will be sourced from Mumbai. “Some more jewellery items orders may come to us but at present we are fully focused on this dress necklace piece. We will deliver the set within two months as it is very lengthy and will require ample hand work. However, along with dress necklace, bangles and some other jewellery order may come to us,” he added. While Kansara refused to charge anything for Bachchan’s gold ring, for Kareena’s dress necklace, he will charge five per cent of gold price.

The Rajkot-based jewellery firm is very prominent for its exclusive jewellery work for celebrities. ANs now it will be Kareena to prominent their legacy by wearin

Underworld Awakening (3D): Movie Review

Kate Beckinsale from a still from 'Underworld Awakening'
Cast: Kate Beckinsale, India Eisley, Michael Ealy, Stephen Rea, Theo James
Direction: Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein
Cast: Action/Fiction/Thriller
Release Date: 20th Jan 2012(worldwide)

Kate Beckinsale reprises the role of a vampire warrior, Selene in the 4th installment of the Underworld series, Underworld Awakening.

It comes to humans' knowledge that vampires and lycans (werewolves) exist. Considering they pose danger to the human race, it is thus decided that both clans need to be eradicated.

Selene attempts to escape imprisonment but gets captured by humans and is kept in cryogenic suspension for 12 years for scientific experiments. Selene manages to flee but encounters another 'subject' who has escaped the facility too. This happens to be Eve (India Eisley) a vampire and lycan hyrbrid.

As circumstances force Selene to save Eve from the lycans, the journey helps Selene unfold the death-defying truth that's been kept under wraps.

Underworld Awakening too takes the rivalry between Vampires and Lycans (werewolves who can take the form of humans) a bit further.

For those who haven't seen the previous installments, not to worry for you don't need to be filled in on the details to be able to comprehend this one. Awakening has pretty much a stand alone storyline with few references to the past, which too are explained towards the end. No unanswered puzzles in the plot make it an easy watch. But again, the plot seems some what stagnant and repetitive over the entire Underworld series.

Awakening's novelty lies in its 3D making and addition of graphical action. Coming to the 3D part, it does enhance the viewing experience but since the entire film's been shot with a bluefilter, it takes some time for you to getting used to watching the fast moving blue-black images. For the first 15 minutes, the eyes do hurt for the film stays dark and you feel blinded for quite some time with all the extra dose of darkness.

Don't expect too much from the story as the franchise is clear about its forte, genre and target audience. In these areas, Awakening excels. If you like video game-esque action, blood and gore, gothic fiction this is your film. The film's basic theme, slow-mo action shots, umpteen CGI effects will keep reminding you of Resident Evil franchise.

Kate Beckinsale as the vampire warrior who uses a gun to kill the werewolves is wooden yet decently effective. Her face is too soft, eyes too timid to turn into electric blue when she uses her fangs to bite her prey. But it's her petite body that fits perfectly into that leather corset which we believe explains her presence in the franchise. As an action main lead, Kate should study Angelina Jolie's work to get that posture, body language right. Beckinsale looks hot yes, lethal not really!

Special credit to the makeup department for the vampires look more authentic and fierce yet as glamourous as in Twilight!

Underworld Awakening has enough and more spellbinding action to keep you engaged. Frightening stunts and special effects are worth that theatre ticket.

Red Tails (2012) HD Movie Trailer - Lucasfilm Official Trailer

First Public Promotional Trailer for the feature film RED TAILS.

1944. World War II rages and the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. Meanwhile the black pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program are courageously waging two wars at once -- one against enemies overseas, and the other against discrimination within the military and back home. Racial prejudices have long held ace airman Martin "Easy" Julian (Nate Parker) and his black pilots back at base -- leaving them with little to do but further hone their flying skills -- while their white counterparts are shipped out to combat after a mere three months of training. Mistakenly deemed inferior and assigned only second-rate planes and missions, the pilots of Tuskegee have mastered the skies with ease but have not been granted the opportunity to truly spread their wings. Until now.
As the war in Europe continues to take its dire toll on Allied forces, Pentagon brass has no recourse but to reconsider these under-utilized pilots for combat duty. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, Col. A.J. Bullard (Terrence Howard) awards them the ultimate chance to prove their mettle high above.

Undaunted by the prospect of providing safe escort to bombers in broad daylight -- a mission so dangerous that the RAF has refused it and the white fighter groups have sustained substantial losses -- Easy's pilots at last join the fiery aerial fray. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies in a heroic endeavor to combat the enemy -- and the discrimination that has kept them down for so long.

Directed by: Anthony Hemingway.

Starring: Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Brandon T. Jackson and Nate Parker.

Red Tails is an upcoming film directed by Anthony Hemingway, from a script by John Ridley and story by executive producer George Lucas. It is based on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American combat pilots during World War II, and is the first Lucasfilm Ltd. production since Radioland Murders (1994) not to be associated with the Indiana Jones or Star Wars franchises.

George Lucas began developing Red Tails around 1988. He compared it to Tucker: The Man and His Dream as "a story too good to be true". Thomas Carter was his original choice to direct. A number of writers worked on the project until John Ridley was hired in 2007 to write the final screenplay. Lucas held discussions with Samuel L. Jackson regarding Jackson possibly directing and acting in the film. Although Jackson praised the script, he did not commit to either role. Anthony Hemingway was finally chosen to direct in 2008. In researching the film, Lucasfilm invited some of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen to Skywalker Ranch, where they were interviewed about their experiences during World War II. Lucasfilm was also given access to the original mission logbooks used by some of the pilots.
Production began in March 2009. High-definition Sony F35 cameras were used for principal photography, which took place in the Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia and England. While shooting in the Czech Republic, the actors underwent a "boot camp" program, during which they lived in similar conditions as the actual Tuskegee Airmen. Editing began while the production was in Prague. Avid editing systems were used simultaneously in a Prague studio and at Lucasfilm. A vehicle was fitted with a "technical center" so that the production could quickly move between locations. In March 2010, Lucas took over direction of reshoots, as Hemingway was busy working on episodes of the HBO series Treme. Hemingway will have final approval over the footage.

Contraband (2012)

Contraband (2012)

  • Release Date: 01/13/2012
  • Rating: R
  • Runtime: 1 hr 49 mins
  • Genre: Action
  • Director: Not Yet Available
  • Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster, Giovanni Ribisi
The nautical heist thriller Contraband is a remake of Reykjavik-Rotterdam, an Icelandic film from 2008 which, admittedly, I’ve yet to see. (It’s curiously difficult to find stateside.) Presumably, there must have been something about it that was compelling enough to warrant the effort and expense of an American adaptation. Whatever it was, it didn’t survive the no doubt complicated process of translating it into a proper Mark Wahlberg vehicle.

Wahlberg plays Chris Farraday, once a legendary New Orleans smuggler but now happily law-abiding as a home-security contractor. The same, however, cannot be said of his punk brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), who runs illegal shipments for a tattooed hoodlum named Tim Riggs (Giovanni Ribisi). When Andy makes the unwise decision to dump his valuable narcotics cargo in advance of a Customs raid, earning the dreaded pay-up-or-die ultimatum from his unsavory boss, Chris tries in vain to intervene on his behalf, only to be rudely rebuffed. Which leaves him with only one option to save Andy’s skin: One Last Job.

The director of Contraband, Baltasar Kormakur, actually starred in Reykjavik-Rotterdam – a piece of trivia which, unfortunately, proves far more interesting than anything found in his remake. It seems his familiarity with the material bred banality, if not necessarily contempt. His approach is a kind of Bourne-lite: the shaky-cam is restrained enough to minimize audience headaches, but the ultimate result is stultifyingly generic.

Essential to any successful Mark Wahlberg film, from Boogie Nights to The Fighter, has been to surround Wahlberg with more accomplished and versatile actors, thereby allowing him to focus on his core competencies of scowling, cursing, and otherwise radiating his unique brand of low-watt charisma. Kormakur assembled capable-enough performers for Contraband, only to saddle them with uniformly bland characters.

Having grown accustomed to Kate Beckinsale as the leather-clad heroine of the Underworld films, I found it odd – and a bit disappointing – to see her reduced to the role of the protagonist’s fretful wife. Ribisi’s novel strategy for transcending his miscasting as a clichéd white-trash villain is to adopt a bizarre, high-pitched accent, presumably Southern in origin but unlike any Southern accent I’ve ever witnessed. Ben Foster plays Wahlberg’s best friend, an ex-con and recovering alcoholic who seems doomed to relapse on both fronts, if only because he’s being played by Ben Foster. Diego Luna, J.K. Simmons, Lukas Haas are underutilized in one-note roles.

I confess to be unfamiliar with the vagaries of illicit foreign-goods transport, but I have to think it’s more exciting than what unfolds inContraband. No one expects it to rival the glamour and of, say, casino robbery, but Kormakur depicts smuggling with all the verve and panache of a tax audit. The film’s lone fireworks occur on land, during a stop-off in Panama City, when Wahlberg’s character is forced by the local crime boss (Luna) in an armored-car hold-up. A heist-within-a-heist, if you will. But soon it’s back on the boat, where the momentum ceases, and the movie sinks.

The Devil Inside (2012)

  • Release Date: 01/06/2012
  • Rating: Not Yet Rated
  • Runtime: Not Yet Available
  • Genre: Horror
  • Director: William Brent Bell
  • Cast: Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Suzan Crowley

By Thomas Leupp

The opening credits of the found-footage excretion The Devil Inside include a helpful disclaimer advising us that the Vatican “did not endorse this film, nor aid in its completion,” just in case we might be inclined to believe the Holy See were in the business of making schlocky horror flicks. One’s heart goes out to Satan, whose involvement in the film is pretty clearly implied by the title, but who received no such disclaimer. Even he deserves better than to be associated with this dreck.

The pseudo-doc-style story centers on a young girl, Isabella Rossi (Fernanda Andrade), whose mother, Maria (Suzan Crowley), murdered three people twenty years prior during what was later revealed to be an exorcism gone awry. Seeking to learn more about the tragedy that consumed her mother, Isabella travels to Italy, where Maria is currently housed in a Vatican-run mental hospital. The doctors prove frustratingly insensitive to her mother’s affliction, causing Isabella to see out a pair of young renegade exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) for help.

Maria is one creepy bird, a frazzled cat-lady whose eyes blaze with penetrating, high-octane craziness even under heaviest of sedation. An early scene, in which Isabella meets with her near-catatonic mother and gently tries to ascertain whether her insanity is of the conventional or demonically-inspired variety, oozes tension as we wait for her whispered ramblings to explode into full-on Satanic mania. It’s a terrifically fraught scene, by far the best in the film, and, sadly, the only point in which we ever come close to being scared.

The film proffers a variety of different narrative threads and chooses to resolve none of them. What happened to the English priest’s uncle, or Isabella’s baby? And what of that poor possessed gal with the hemorrhaging vagina? Was she ever able to get that under control? God only knows. Even crazy-eyes Maria, the film’s MVP, makes an all-too-hasty exit, never to be hear from again after a half-baked exorcism attempt.

Director/co-writer William Brent Bell’s clear aim is to mimic the wildly successful Paranormal Activity films, but he ignores the found-footage standard-bearer’s most important precept, which is to keep the story simple, rely as little on the “actors” as possible, and pile on the cheap scares, one after another. Instead, we’re handed an abundance of character details we never asked for, and which never really amount to anything, save for some choice over-acting in the third act when the devil’s machinations turn everyone against each other. The film devolves into a kind of exorcism-themed Real World episode, replete with “confessionals” in which the characters tearfully air their frustrations -- as if we gave a damn. Perhaps it’s a good thing we don’t, because The Devil Insideconcludes with what might be the least-satisfying horror ending in a decade.

Blitz : Movie Review

A STILL FROM THE MOVIE
Critic's Rating:
Cast: Jason Statham, Paddy Considine, Aidan Gillen
Direction: Elliott Lester
Genre: Thriller
Duration: 1 hour 37 minutes
Story: There's a serial killer on the loose. But then this killer is different -- he plans to kill off the police force one by one. Enter detective Sergeant Tom Brant (Jason Statham)....

Movie Review: This is the perfect vehicle for Jason Statham to showcase his skills as the bad-ass sociopathic cop who knows only how to kill and lift the testosterone to levels rarely reached with his no nonsense panache for unlettered violence.
But Jason isn't a killer alone. The department loves him because he is a friend in need despite being deprived of all friendly feelings. His I love You, I am there for the team is unconditional. Consider how he tends to his Chief Inspector Roberts cope through his wife's death and you'll get the point why he is the most loved and hated cop in the department. Statham, the bad-ass cop is pitted against Barry Weiss (Aiden Gillen) a pessimistic loner with just one purpose in life which is to murder all men in blue. As Tom Brant, Jason once again is seen playing a no-nonsense man of few or no words literally. He, as always, is seen as this hard-nut who drinks a couple of cans and yet manages to walk out of blasts unhurt. Are we complaining? No, for Jason is Jason. The hardships of being a cop aside and the relief Paddy Considine gets to an otherwise action plot as the gay sergeant whom Brant unwillingly accepts, the question remains how much of killing and brutality can one take.
A lot if Jason is around because you know here is this mean machine that can accomplish anything with chutzpah. Go for Jason Statham's animalistic charms.
